Working at Height
The amendments to the Work at Height Regulations 2005 which came into force on 6 April has addressed issues relating to inspection, planning and training. The Regulations will apply to all work at height where there is a risk of a fall liable to cause personal injury. The Regulation identifies Duty-holders to ensure:
- All work is properly planned and organised
- Risks from work at height are assessed and appropriate work equipment is selected and used
- Those involved in work at height are competent to carry out the work
- Risks from fragile surfaces are properly controlled
- Equipment for work at height is properly inspected and maintained.

The object of this course is to provide a level of competence for each delegate, promoting an understanding of legal obligations, an appreciation of risk with working at height, and the ability to plan the works to reduce the risk associated with working at height.

Scaffold Appreciation
An appreciation of scaffold, its applications, it use, limitations and inspection requirements is an onerous task for the un-skilled.
Course Objectives:

Course Assessment:
To determine competence and understanding, delegates will be required to successfully complete an assessment. The assessment will be based upon a multi-choice questionnaire.

Manual Handling
Over 36% of lost time at work accidents is attributed to manual handling.
Whilst fatal accidents are rare, accidents resulting in major injuries, some of which include fractured limbs, are all too common.
Course Objectives:
This half-day course is designed to provide both the employer and employee with suitable information and practice to enable them to act in accordance with the Manual Handling Operations Regulations. It will provide attendee's with an understanding of legislative requirements and manual handling techniques.
The course offers attendees the opportunity to discuss their workplace and their legal duties explained under current legislation. This knowledge will enable attendees to return back to their workplace and apply a practical approach to safe systems of work.
